تخفيض مستوى التعرض للأشعة الى أقل حد ممكن (الحد الذي لا يشكل خطورة على الجسم) زيادة المسافة بين مصدر الاشعاع وجسم الانسان، لتخفيض تأثر الجسم بها في حالة وصولها اليه ارتداء الملابس الواقية التي تحتوي على نوع الحاجز المناسب للأشعة عزل أماكن العمل عن أماكن تناول الطعام ومنع تخزين الطعام بالقرب من أماكن العمل توعية العاملين وتعريفهم بالمخاطر الناجمة عن الاشعاعات وأهمية الوقاية منها العمليات عزل العملية الإنتاجية التي يصدر منها الاشعاع عن باقي العمليات الإنتاجية التهوية الجيدة للمواقع التي يصدر عنها ابخرة مشعة والصيانة الوقائية للألأت والأجهزة المشعة عدم السماح للأشخاص الذين لم يتلقوا تدريبا خاصا في السلامة من الاشعاع بدخول منطقة العمل يجب اجراء القياس الدوري لجرعات الاشعاع وذلك بتزويد كل عامل بمقياس الشعاع توفير وتنظيم أوعية خاصة للنفايات المشعة ووضع علامات التعريف والتحذير عليها تنظيم سجلات خاصة بالنفايات المشعة التي توجد بالمعمل مراعات الأساليب العلمية في حالة حدوث حالة تلوث اشعاعي غسل اليدين جيدا بالماء وذلك بعد كل استخدام للنظائر المشعة التأكد من عدم تلوث اليدين والملابس قبل مغادرة الموقع الى الأماكن العامة في حالة وجود أعراض زيادة الجرعة الاشعاعية أو الشك في ذلك يبلغ المسؤول الطبي فورا
